Bilingual Shows

Our bilingual shows can be performed in both English and French, and also just in French. Those shows are available throughout the country to English schools, keeping in mind that this is more a language experience than an educational play.

Those shows were originally created for the season of Au théâtre, this Sunday at the French Institute of London to entertain bilingual families.

Charles Perrault forgot he promised a tale to his niece for her birthday. When she reminds him, he realises he has run out of ideas. Thanks to a few actors, a stage manager and the children in the audience, Perrault is going to find inspiration again and write his most world-famous tale The Little Red Riding Hood!

Adapted from the famous French children’s tale, our theatrical version is not only a faithful rendition of the original but also an interactive retelling of how the great writer found his inspiration.

A company of actors, a director and a technician decide to put on Donkey Skin, the famous tale by Charles Perrault, but they don’t know the story and don't have enough performers. Still, the show must go on, and they need to perform the fairy tale! The magic of theatre operates when they discover a treasure: costumes! ‘Let’s improvise’ says the director! And they start telling one of the craziest tales ever written. The children will have no choice but to come on stage to help them perform the show!

Through this show, Exchange Theatre offers a participative experience to young people. A real interactive exchange is created with the audience, breaking the wall between the stage and the audience and creating stories where the children are actively involved and being part of.
